The 6-foot long branch punctured Paul and Elaine Palizzolo’s bedroom ceiling.
WILMINGTON (CBS) – A Wilmington couple survived a scare during a storm that brought down two massive trees onto their home Sunday night.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Kim Tunnicliffe reports
One 6-foot long branch punctured Paul and Elaine Palizzolo’s bedroom ceiling and came spiraling down like a spear.
“It was almost down to the floor and there was plaster everywhere and leaves. There’s leaves all over the house.” Elaine Palizzolo told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Monday.
The Palizzolos are convinced they would have been killed had they been in the bedroom at the time.
“After everything happened we realized, ‘Oh my God, this could have been a lot worse.’ It was bad, but luckily we’re both here and luckily it can be repaired and we will survive it.”
“I just count my lucky stars and we’ll have an exciting story to tell people,” Paul Palizzolo said.
Crews cut down what’s left of the two massive trees Monday.
