Wood Chipper Rolls Into Car In Leominster

BOSTON (CBS) - A large commercial size wood chipper broke loose from the box truck and crashed into an SUV on Thursday.

The accident happened in front of 4 Main St around 11:20 a.m. Fire officials say the SUV was stopped at a red light when the chipper rolled into it.

The chipper hit the left side of the SUV and was resting on the driver's side door. The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution and did not have any serious injuries.

Officials had to use heavy rescue cables and and tow truck cables to remove the chipper.
