18-Foot Shark Spotted, Tagged Off Chatham Coast

BOSTON (CBS) – Crews tagged an 18-foot great white shark off the Cape Cod coast on Friday.

The shark was tagged at around 11 a.m. off the coast of Chatham.

Shark hunters then tracked the shark as it moved north along the beach up toward the Coast Guard Station near Nauset Island.

Sharks have been spotted in the waters off Cape Cod all summer.

A large seal population has been partially blamed for the increase in shark sightings.
