Gresh & Zo: Beckett Fails Again, Doesn't Talk After Game

Following Boston's 5-3 loss to the Rangers in Texas Wednesday night, Josh Beckett decided not to speak to the media --again.

Beckett pitched very well, but had two wild pitches in the seventh inning that cost him.It was reported after the game he left the Red Sox clubhouse before reporters were allowed in.

Gresh & Zo weighed in on Beckett's early departure Thursday afternoon.

"The bigger issue is not him not talking to the media," said Gresh. "I think for most the bigger issue is, and we mentioned it (when "Golfgate was going down), it is about the accountability and the mindset of each particular athlete."

"Tell me what has changed perception-wise since we made such a big deal out of it three months ago," Gresh asked. "It's actually gotten worse."

So the duo heads back to the question that Red Sox fans have been asking for months now: should the Red Sox trade Josh Beckett?

"There has been a lot of chatter here that if the Red Sox traded Josh Beckett this week, people would not hammer them. They would no lose constituents. I think people would say they did what they had to do," said Gresh.

"With Beckett, you can give him away and people would still be behind you," added Zo.

"Here is the thing with Beckett. If he doesn't want to talk to the media, I don't have a problem with that," said Gresh. "But be consistent with it."
