BLOCK ISLAND, R.I. (CBS) – A plane towing a “Will You Marry Me?” banner crashed into the water off Rhode Island on Monday.

The aircraft went down between Block Island and Point Judith around 3 p.m.

The Coast Guard rescued the pilot at around 4:10 p.m. The pilot was the only person on board the plane.

The plane is described as a piper aircraft.
