BELLINGHAM (AP) — The driver of a sport utility vehicle has been killed and the passenger was injured in a crash in Bellingham.
WPRI reports that emergency crews from Bellingham and Woonsocket, R.I., responded early Sunday morning.
The driver of the SUV, 30-year-old Jessie Crum of Warwick, was pronounced dead at Landmark Medical Center. The passenger, 31-year-old Joshua Champagne of Harrisville, is in serious condition at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.
Investigating officers say the SUV crossed the center line and left the roadway. It crossed back and hit the northbound shoulder, climbed an embankment and struck a tree head-on.
An investigation continues.
