NH Brewery Releases Beer To Honor Worker Killed In Keg Explosion

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire brewery where an employee was killed in a keg explosion is releasing a special beer in his memory.

Portsmouth's Redhook Brewery is holding a keg tapping celebration on Friday for Ben Harris. The event is being held from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Redhook describes the beer as a special take on the classic cream ale style.

All proceeds for the event will benefit a fund set up for his family. The 26-year-old Harris of Newington was married and was expecting a child in December.

Harris was emptying a plastic keg with pressurized air when it blew apart at the seams in April.

The parent company of Redhook, Craft Brew Alliance, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the accident.
