Maine Golfers Get Back To Back Hole-In-Ones
PORTLAND, MAINE (CBS) - The Chances: 17 million to 1. Golfer Matt Parker of Falmouth, Maine gets a hole-in-one on the 4th hole, at Maine's Portland Country Club.
The story gets better though, when his playing partner Travis Ferrante tees up right behind him, and sinks an ace himself.
Ferrante spoke with WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Drew Moholland
Podcast
Ferrante says the hole was playing about 124 yards and they had to hit over a pond.
"I put it about eight yards by it and it rolled right back into it," he says. "If it didn't go in the cup, it would have rolled 75 feet past the hole."
Ferrante says fellow golfers at the club were happy, because as with tradition, they got two rounds of drinks bought for them at the bar.
Earlier in the day, a third golfer hit a hole-in-one on a different hole.
