BOSTON (CBS) – The New England Patriots, already very rich in tight end talent, will work out another veteran at Gillette on Thursday.
Visanthe Shiancoe, a veteran of nine NFL seasons, will reportedly work out with New England according to Steve Wyche of the NFL Newtork. The 32-year-old Shiancoe played the last five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, and has 243 catches, 2,677 receiver yards and 27 touchdowns over his career.

Shiancoe’s best season came in 2009 when he hauled in 56 catches for 566 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Patriots currently have five tight ends on their roster, headlined by Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez.

Shiancoe, originally drafted by the New York Giants in 2003, reportedly turned down a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks last week.
