Yesterday was quite a day! It all began around 1:30pm and kept going strong throughout the evening hours. Maybe you even witnessed Meteorologist Todd Gutner losing power while on-air talking about the severe storms! Here is a link to the numerous storm reports from yesterday’s hectic scene. The National Weather Service will be surverying the damage in Arlington (from a storm ~6pm last night). At the moment, they are almost certain that the wind damage was created by straight-line winds, but the survey team will confirm that today.
Today will be a welcomed respite from the heat and humidity. A lingering shower across SE Massachusetts will make way for a cloud/sun combo. Dewpoints will be lowering to make for a more comfortable feel. Highs will be in the lower 80s…cooler coast.
Friday will continue to offer a more refreshing air mass along with a cloud/sun mix. There will be more clouds south of the Mass Pike. We will need to watch a wave of low pressure riding along a front just to our South. This appears to produce a few showers in Connecticut, but it still looks like we wills tay dry. If anyone received a shower or sprinkle, it’d be near the South Coast, Cape, and Islands. Highs will be between 75-80F.
This weekend is looking great! Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs near 80…70s coast. Then, it will be continue to be dry on Sunday with temperatures heading for the middle 80s…cooler Cape/Islands.
Heat and humidity will return early next week as well as a chance of storms.
One alarm clock away…~Melissa :)
