CONCORD, NH (CBS) – A 24-year-old Concord, New Hampshire man is accused of leading police on a car chase while three young children were inside his vehicle.
Police say an officer witnessed Lloyd Cooper driving erratically on Pierce Street and running two stop signs.
When the officer tried to pull over Cooper’s car, he allegedly took off, ran a third stop sign, and crashed into a utility pole.
Cooper jumped out of the car and took off. He was captured and arrested a short distance away.
As the officer was bringing Cooper back to the police car, he discovered the children, ages 6, 4, and 1 all sitting inside the crashed car.
None of them were injured. They were later released to family.
Cooper is charged with driving with a suspended license, endangering the welfare of a child, disobeying police, resisting arrest, and drug possession.
Police say they discovered marijuana in the car.
