Officials Rescue Dedham Woman From Lake Sunapee

SUNAPEE, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire Marine Patrol says a Massachusetts woman is safe after she was pulled from Lake Sunapee.

Two officers were patrolling Gardner Bay on Lake Sunapee at about 12:45 p.m. Saturday when they heard a cry for help and saw an adult female in distress about 50 feet from shore.

The officers threw the woman a life-ring and pulled her to safety in the patrol boat.

The rescued swimmer was identified as 48-year-old LiLi Li, of Dedham, Mass.

Officials say Li had weak swimming skills and was using a non-approved floatation device.

The patrol is urging the public to use proper flotation devices for all activities on the water.
