QUINCY (CBS) - Dozens of firefighters battled a fire in Quincy Saturday afternoon at a dry cleaner on Washington Street.

The fire started inside Dependable Cleaners just after 3 p.m.

Owner Christa Hagearty said that there were several workers inside the building when flames broke out.
They all managed to escape safely. The weather made battling the fire difficult, with temperatures soaring into the 90s.

Hagearty said firefighters were on scene in a matter of seconds, but the fire spread so quickly that there wasn't much they could do to save the building.

She was thankful to the crews that responded and grateful that no one was hurt.

Hagearty told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that the fire knocked out the company's main computers, which has impacted all 16 Dependable Cleaners locations.

They are hoping to have the computers up and running again by Monday.

"We're going to figure out how we get everything up and running as fast as possible so our customers are made whole and there's as little disruption as possible," she said.

Hagearty said her management team was meeting Sunday morning to make sure that all of her stores can operate seamlessly.

The building was declared a total loss. The fire was caused by equipment failure.
