AUBURN (CBS) – A spectacular car fire backed up traffic on the Massachusetts Turnpike for miles early Friday afternoon.

An SUV went up in flames in the breakdown lane on the Pike westbound just before 11 a.m. near exit 10 in Auburn.

Alannah Healy sent a photo of the fire to WBZ-TV and said the flames also sparked a small brush fire on the side of the road.

No one was hurt.

State police were forced to close the right two lanes on the highway briefly to put the fire out and clear the scene.
