Red Sox Prospect Westmoreland Undergoes Brain Surgery For Complications
BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Red Sox prospect Ryan Westmoreland underwent surgery on Friday for a complication of a cavernous malformation in his brain, according to the team.
The surgery, done at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, was said to be a success Westmoreland is doing well in recovery.
The 22-year-old Westmoreland fist underwent brain surgery for a cavernous malformation on his brain stem back in 2010.
He has been recovering since.
