LEOMINSTER (CBS) – When there is an emergency, we are quick to focus on the first responders.
After all, they are putting their lives on the line.
A group that doesn’t get any attention is the support staff or volunteers behind these brave folks.
So tonight, we recognize one such group.
The Leominster office of Emergency Management has a group known as the Emergency Re-hab Unit.
This group of volunteers works 24-7 on any large-scale emergency to comfort the first responders and comfort the victims.
This year, they’re celebrating 30 years of doing this kind of selfless service.
Congrats, and I’m sure from all those you have helped: a big thank you.
