Fantastic Friday

It's a 'fantastic' Friday if you love sunshine and summerlike warmth.

This is perfect timing as we end out a big vacation week and head into the weekend!

Today will be suny with high clouds filling in this evening.  It's going to be a warm one, as interior locales head into the 90 degree range while the immediate coast line along with the Cape/Islands will hang in the upper 70's to lower 80's.

This weekend is 50/50.

Saturday will become mostly cloudy early in the day as a cold front approaches from the northwest.  Then, the front will slowly move south of the Islands early on Sunday morning.

Consequently, there will be a chance of a few showers and storms on Saturday afternoon, evening and night.

Then, residual clouds and showers will be departing the Cape and the Islands on Sunday morning.

Sunday should turn out mostly sunny for the majority of our area.

The exception will be southeastern Massachusetts where the front will be closest.  Because of it's proximity, there will be more high to mid-level clouds in those neighborhoods throughout the day.

Currently, the rain appears to stay south for most of the day except for a brief leftover shower in the morning.

We will need to closely monitor where the front ends up stalling, which would affect Sunday's weather.

Saturday will be the hottest in the lower to middle 90's, depending on how quickly the clouds take over.

Sunday will provide drier air in the wake of the front which will bring high temperatures back to "normal" - lower to middle 80's.

Early next week will include sunshine, seasonable high temps, and lower humidity!

Happy FRRRiday!
