Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!

It's going to be an interesting day in the weather department.

Check: Current Conditions | Weather Maps | Interactive Radar

There will be showers along with a few embedded downpours this morning before some afternoon sun begins to shine.

Then, a cold front will spawn a few spot strong storms this afternoon and evening.

This is one of those days where we will be watching the radar closely.

So, stay tuned by watching WBZ-TV News or stay in touch via this website, CBSBoston.com.  Of course, there is social media as well - Facebook/WBZWeather page and our Twitter page, WBZWeather.

Highs will be in the middle to upper 80's with high temps closer to 80 for the Cape/Islands.

Thursday will be mainly sunny with a few cumulus clouds developing across the Merrimack Valley and Cape Ann during the afternoon. Otherwise, highs will be approaching the middle 80's with highs closer to 80 near the coast due to a seabreeze.

Friday will be another beauty as the sun will be shining!  It will be heating up near 90 with the exception of the coast where highs will climax closer to the 80 degree mark.

This weekend is going to be rather nice overall.

Saturday will begin with a mixture of sun and clouds before a few storms develop later in the afternoon. It's going to be hot and humid with highs around 90!  The passage of a cold front will wash away our threat of rain and the humidity. In other words, Sunday will turn out to be a beauty of a day with highs in the middle 80's, cooler at the coast.

Your beach and boating forecast can be found right here as well as updated forecasts throughout the day.

Also, you can check out our radar and see where the spot storms develop this afternoon and evening.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

~Melissa :)
