BOSTON (CBS) – Severe storms brought dangerous lightning to the region Wednesday. In South Boston, a man and woman were taken to the hospital after being struck by lightning at Thomas Park around 11p.m.
Their conditions are unknown.
Earlier in the day, three people were struck by lightning at Weirs Beach in Laconia, New Hampshire. They were taken to Lakes Region General Hospital.
One person was unconscious when they were transported. The extent of the injuries are unknown.
Massachusetts State Police ordered an evacuation of the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular due to the storm threat. The show resumed 25 minutes later.
