Teen Claims She Was Sexually Assaulted In Cape Pond Bathroom

BARNSTABLE (AP) — Police are investigating after a teenage girl said she was sexually assaulted at a public bathroom at a Cape Cod pond.

Officers responded to Hamblin Pond just after noon on Sunday after a report of an assault on a girl in her early teens.

The girl told police she was confronted by a young man with a knife who threatened her after she entered the women's restroom.

Police say the man touched the teenager in an inappropriate manner.

The girl told the adult she was with.

Police, with the help of dogs, searched the area but could not locate the suspect.

The girl said her assailant was wearing dark clothing and a black baseball hat and had a bandanna covering his face.
