Ray Allen To Start Free Agency Tour With Visits To Heat, Clippers

BOSTON (CBS) - Free agent guard Ray Allen will begin his Free Agency Tour this week, according to TNT's David Aldridge.

The 36-year-old Allen will visit with the Miami Heat on Thursday and LA Clippers on Friday, reports Aldridge, as he listens to offers for what could be his final contract in the NBA.

The Celtics can offer Allen the most money, and reportedly have a two-year, $12-million deal on the table. But there is no shortage for potential suitors.

In addition to the Heat and the Clippers, the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves are also interested in Allen's services.

Miami would give Allen the best chance at another ring, but they can only offer the taxpayer mid-level exception which starts just over $3 million per year. The Clippers and Grizzlies could both offer the All-Time Three-Point king the full mid-level exception, which starts at $5 million annually.

Allen had conference calls with all four teams on Monday, according Aldridge's source. But according to the report, he is not currently scheduled to make visits to Memphis or Minnesota.
