BOSTON (CBS) – Sunday was one of the hottest days of the year, but that didn’t stop hundreds of people from turning out for Boston’s 31st annual Chowderfest.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Kim Tunnicliffe reports.
There were a number of restaurants taking part in the competition at City Hall Plaza.
Mayor Tom Menino was on hand to get a sampling of all of the hot chowder featured at the event.
“It’s never too hot for chowder. This is a great tradition of the Harborfest activities. We have nine restaurants vying for the best chowder this year, and it’s real competitive. There’s about five of them that are really excellent chowder,” said Mayor Menino.
