NEEDHAM (CBS) – A bear spotted Sunday in Dedham is likely the same animal seen Monday in Needham.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Carl Stevens reports.
At around 10 a.m., there was a report of a bear in an area of Needham, near the Newton line.
Residents and businesses in the area were told to exercise caution.
Later in the afternoon, fish and wildlife officials confirmed that the black bear had left the area.
“I think its kind of weird, it shouldn’t be located this close to the city… but they are becoming more evident around the area especially down in the Cape with that scaring and all that good stuff,” said a Needham resident.
The bear is believed to be a young male and possibly the same bear spotted Sunday in Dedham.
Dedham police received several calls about the bear from concerned residents.
One resident though it actually excited about the bear’s presence.
“Oh I’m very excited about it, I’m not afraid,” said Martha, a Dedham resident. “I like wildlife, there was a fox here that I saw and there’s deer here in the morning so its exciting.”
