WINTHROP (CBS) – If good things come in small packages, then great things are coming out of Blackstrap BBQ.

Located in Winthrop Center, the food at this little barbecue joint is big on flavor.

Ever since Chris Thompson opened Blackstrap a little more than a year ago, customers have lined up for his authentic southern style barbecue. And since this stuff is the real deal, it’s smoked low and slow, which means you might just have to wait.

So, nothing comes out of the smoker until it’s absolutely perfect, from the Texas brisket to the Carolina-Style pulled pork to the Memphis ribs.

All the classic sides are represented, like cornbread, baked beans and mac and cheese.

For appetizers, the smoked chicken wings are great, but the red bliss potatoes topped with bacon and onions are even better.

For dessert, save a little room for the cornbread pudding with Blackstrap caramel sauce and you’ll definitely leave full, and happy.
