O-V-E-R…the heatwave has ended. After 95 this afternoon in Boston, 96 yesterday and 97 on Wednesday Boston saw it’s first heatwave of the season. But storms this evening have ended it and less hot air will return for the forseeable future.
A coldfront will work through late tonight and tomorrow morning but until then, there is a chance for showers and even some thunderstorms with lingering instability. Tomorrow, even though the front will be moving east, there will still be some upper level energy capable of popping another storm in the afternoon with leftover muggy air in place. In the wake of the upper level disturbance the air will dry out very nicely to finish up the weekend and lots of sunshine and warm temps will be seen.
We go through a pattern change next week and this week’s 90′s will be a distant memory as temps will slide back to the 70s and after a showery Monday pleasant midweek weather is expected.
Have a great weekend.
