It’s setting up to be a ‘heat wave’ across southern New England!
Today will make it the 3rd consecutive day of 90+ degrees for many neighborhoods.
Boston’s official high temperature today will make it a close call for an ‘official’ heat wave for Boston (Logan Airport) record books.
Sunshine will kick-off the day before clouds begin to build and scattered showers and storms develop later this afternoon and evening.
Some of these storms may become strong/severe. It will remain muggy today as well. Highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
The showers and storms will linger overnight due to the slow movement of the cold front. Lows will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Lingering showers will affect southeastern Mass. on Saturday morning before skies return to partly sunny during the midday hours.
Then, a few spot showers and storms will develop during the afternoon, mainly north and west of Boston, due to the 500H pool of cool air sweeping across the region. Highs will be more seasonable near the upper 70s to lower 80s.
The pick day of the weekend, Sunday, will be mostly sunny until the evening hours.
Highs will be 80-85, except for the immdiate coast which will aim for highs 75-80.
A trough-like pattern is going to maintain its composure for the majority of next week.
Consequently, daytime showers are tough to rule out completely for nearly the entire week.
That being said, it appears that Tuesday will make it through in a dry fashion as well as next Friday.
However, that remains to be seen.
It’s very tough this far out to time out the ‘spokes’/shortwaves that will be spiraling around the upper level, closed low. Additionally, this pattern will bring cooler high temps in the 70s.
Happy FRRRiday! Have a fantastic weekend!
