School Principal Loses Bet, Forced To Dress Like Lady Gaga & Milk A Cow

BOSTON (CBS) - How do you get kids to read more? Bet them you'll dress up as Lady Gaga, while milking a cow. That's what a Dorchester school principal did.

Sporting a black dress, blond wig, heels, and a crown, principal Justin Vernon of the Roger Clap Innovation School strode onto the playground dressed up as Lady Gaga and tried milking Moxie the cow, all part of an effort to try and get his students to read 10,000 books.

The students actually ended up reading 13,000.

"I couldn't be any more proud of the students. One of the ideas that is really stressed through the Roger Clap Innovation School is this idea of practice and challenge and these kids really took to that this year," Vernon said.

Theresa Davis, who has two of her kids at the school, believes this bet really helped her kids.

"They are doing so much better just from this project," she said. "My daughter is reading through the charts from it. It couldn't be any better."
