BOSTON (CBS) – Candy tastes great, but it’s not all that good for you.
One local entrepreneur wants to change that.
His third company, Boston-based Unreal, is on a mission to make healthier junk food, and he’s starting with candy.
Bronner founded Unreal with his 15-year-old son Nicky. Unreal has already raised millions of dollars in venture capital.
Products are launching in 30,000 stores, including CVS and Target, this summer.
The first product roll-out contains five varieties of candy, including versions of M&M’s and peanut butter cups.
Unreal’s candy will have half the sugar and 23% fewer calories than typical candy brands.
