They were unpacking a shipment of lobsters from Maine when they found five extremely rare orange lobsters that were alive.
“One of my retail managers, Joe, was going through the lobsters and he pulled them out and thought it was Christmas time,” said Bill Sarro, the owner of Fresh Catch.
Sarro, who has been in the business for 30 years, described the discovery as “amazing” and “crazy.”
“Never seen anything like it. I’ve seen many blue lobsters, but I’ve never seen an orange lobster.”
Sarro said he has received calls from a number of organizations, but he’s not giving the lobsters up any time soon.
According to marine experts, the chance of finding an orange lobster is one in 10 million.
