BOSTON (CBS) – The Red Sox called up outfielder Ryan Kalish from Triple-A Pawtucket on Sunday.
Kalish missed more than a year after injuring his shoulder during a diving catch last year with the PawSox.
He was activated at Pawtucket on June 5 and hit .378 with four HRs and 10 RBI in nine games. \
He hasn’t been in the big leagues since 2010, when he had four HRs and 24 RBI in 53 games.
Kalish replaces Ryan Sweeney, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a toe injury.
