2 NH Men With Parachutes Arrested For Climbing Newton TV Tower

NEWTON (CBS) - Two New Hampshire men were arrested Sunday after trying to jump off a TV tower in Newton.

Police say when they arrived, Tighe Crumb of Salem, New Hampshire and Tom Becker of Derry, were already halfway up the tower.

They had parachutes, helmets and a camera and were planning to BASE jump.

Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker says they were arrested and charged with trespassing, malicious damage and disturbing the peace.

Last October, a worker fell to his death from another TV tower in Newton.
