Patriots Alfonzo Dennard Pleads Not Guilty In Assault Case
BOSTON (CBS) - New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has pleaded not guilty on charges of third-degree assault of a police officer on Tuesday, according to the Omaha World-Herald.
The charges stem from an incident just days before the NFL draft, in which Dennard reportedly struck an officer outside a bar in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Dennard played corner for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 2008-2011 and earned Big Ten First Team honors his senior season. He was selected in the seventh round, 224th overall, by New England in April's draft.
