Rivers On Technical: 'Worst I've Ever Had'

BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Celtics were hit with five technical fouls in Monday night's Game 1 loss to the Miami Heat, and Celtics head coach Doc Rivers was none too happy following the game.

He was especially heated about the technical he received in the second quarter.

"I know mine wasn't (deserved). I can tell you that much," Rivers said following the team's 93-79 loss.

Recap: Celtics Drop Game 1 In Miami

Rivers was called for a T late in the second after complaining about a non-foul call after a Rajon Rondo driving layup. He was seen saying "C'mon Eddie" to referee Ed Malloy, who whistled him for the technical; Boston's fourth at that point in the game.

"I don't know how long I've been in this league, but that has to rank as the worst I've ever had," Rivers said of the call. "I would have loved to earn it."

The Celtics were called for three individual technicals (Rivers, Rondo, Ray Allen), a delay of game, and an illegal defense. Miami hit three of the five free throws.

"We should never get them anyway," Rivers added. "I told our guys that. But everybody has to keep their composure. Not just the players and coaches."
