Police have tentatively identified the body as a 60-year-old Dorchester man, but have not yet released the man's name.

The body, which was fully clothed, was found a short distance from the shore in shallow water in an area known as the "Sugar Bowl," an inlet at Castle Island Park.

"I don't know, all you could see was his shirt. His shirt was sticking up out of the water. The rest of him was under water, and they had a State Police boat out there to pull him in and get him on the shoreline," said a witness.

The cause of death is not known.

No other information was immediately available.
