BOSTON (CBS) – Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial start of clam shack season.
Dan Andelman of the Phantom Gourmet is on the hunt for fresh, New England seafood.
Located on Route 6 in Wareham, Kool Kone is a Cape Cod institution serving up soft serve and enormous fried seafood platters.
And the lobster roll is packed with five ounces of fresh lobster meat, for just twelve fifty.
Located steps from the ocean in Rye, New Hampshire, Petey’s Summertime Seafood is a casual restaurant that specializes in all the seafood you crave when the sun is shining.
Woodman’s of Essex is where the fried clam was invented. And ever since Lawrence “Chubby” Woodman dropped the first bivalve into a deep fryer back in nineteen sixteen, thousands of hungry customers have come here to experience their perfectly-crisp, full-bellied beauties, along with their generous lobster rolls and puffy onion rings.
Summer doesn’t technically start until June, which gives you more than enough time to find your favorite clam shack.
For more food and fun, watch the Phantom Gourmet Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on myTV38.
