Norfolk Woman Arrested For OUI Again After Five-Car Crash

NORFOLK (CBS) - A Norfolk woman responsible for a hit-and-run crash six years ago that killed a man is facing charges again after she was involved in a five-car crash Sunday morning.

Elizabeth Finnegan, 22, faces several charges including driving under the influence after the accident on I-95 in Attleboro. At least five cars were involved in the crash and three people were taken to the hospital.

Sunday's arrest was Finnegan's third in the last six years.

In 2006, when Finnegan was 17, she was arrested for hitting and killing 38-year-old Jeffrey Cardin with her car before fleeing the scene in Wrentham.

While on probation for that crash, she was arrested again three years later for drunk driving in Ashland and was ordered to seek treatment.

Cardin's ex-wife Rosemary Walsh says after her latest arrest for Sunday's crash, enough is enough.

"She needs to be stopped. I'm pleading with the courts right now to stop her. She needs to go to jail," said Walsh.

Finnegan has been placed under house arrest and ordered to undergo random alcohol testing.
