Weston Crash Brings Traffic To Crawl On Mass Pike

WESTON (CBS) – A crash backed up traffic for miles just before the start of rush hour on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Weston early Monday morning.

An SUV and a tractor-trailer collided heading eastbound around 5:4o a.m. near the State Police barracks and Exit 14.

The SUV driver was taken to the hospital, but the extent of those injuries is not known.

The driver of the truck, based in Jacksonville, Florida, was not hurt.

Only one lane was open after the crash and traffic was backed up all the way to Natick.

The scene was cleared around 6:15 a.m. but the residual backups continued as rush hour began.

The cause of the accident is still not known.
