One Dead, Four Hurt In Overnight Canoeing Accident At Route 2 Reservoir

BOSTON (CBS)-- One person is dead and four others seriously injured in a canoeing accident in a reservoir on the Fitchburg-Leominster line.

Rescue officials were called to the scene near Route 2 early Saturday morning.

They say  two of the victims may have been in the water as long as an hour.  They were taken by air to area hospitals.

The other two were treated for hypothermia.
