Warming Up...

After a dismal week we are in for a great weekend...we all deserve it!  We've been under the influence of a 4 day storm..the front end gave us soaking rain the back end clouds and pop-up showers.  I'm happy to pass along that the entire system is moving on out of here and to be replaced with summer-like conditions this weekend.

With high pressure settling to our south westerly winds take over tomorrow...ridgeing in the mid-levels means a warming airmass and with that offshore, downsloping wind, temps should be maximized to around 80 degrees!  The air will be very dry and only a few clouds advance in late in the day.

A coldfront will be creeping in from the north and west Saturday night and Sunday...winds turn southwesterly keeping the warmth in but also transporting in a bit more moisture.  With the warm and more humid air in place the front in the vicinity will provide just enough of a trigger for some showers and thunderstorms to bubble up.  Not ever town will see one but they will be relatively slow movers, so if you are under one it could be bit before you are out.

That same front will be close by early next week but with a strengthening Atlantic ridge may actually back to the west a little focusing the showers to our west for the start of the week until a mid-level trough finally kicks it over and through us.  Either way, the early and middle part of next week especially are going to wet again.

I'd like to wish a happy Mother's Day to every Mom, Stepmom, Mother-In-Law and Grandmother...enjoy your day!
