Elizabeth Warren speaks to reporters on May 3.
BOSTON (CBS) – Warren has been taking some heat after her long-time claim to a Native American heritage has come under question. While it has been difficult to find any substantial connection to the Cherokee tribe in her family’s past, recent digging has lead to a different type of connection. It turns out that one of Warren’s ancestors actually helped round up Cherokee tribe members for the tragic march on the Trail of Tears. Cornell Professor William Jacobson checks in with NightSide to talk about this new development. Do you think Warren should admit her mistake and apologize, or is this story all media hype?
