Fast Lane Changing To E-ZPass In Massachusetts

BOSTON (CBS) - Fast Lane is changing to E-ZPass.

The automated toll collection system on the Massachusetts Turnpike, the Tobin Bridge and the airport tunnels is changing names to make it less confusing for out-of-state drivers and improve traffic flow.

Fast Lane is only available in Massachusetts, while E-ZPass is used in 13 other states, including New Hampshire and New York.

If you have Fast Lane, you won't have to do anything to your account.

The state will begin replacing the Fast Lane signs next week during overnight hours.

That will cost $1.2 million, but the state Department of Transportation said most of that will come from the federal government.
