SEEKONK (CBS) – A huge fire at an old abandoned mill complex in Seekonk could be seen for miles during rush hour Tuesday morning.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Karen Twomey reports
The fire broke out in a building at 36 Maple Avenue off Route 152 in the north end of town near the Attleboro line around 5 a.m.
The flames quickly spread through the complex and black smoke rising from the building could be seen as far away as Interstate 95.
At least one person hosed down a nearby home as a precaution, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading.
There’s no word yet on a cause, but the fire department told WBZ-TV is it suspicious.
No one was hurt.
The building was condemned three years ago after the roof collapsed.
