SEEKONK (CBS) - A huge fire at an old abandoned mill complex in Seekonk could be seen for miles during rush hour Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out in a building at 36 Maple Avenue off Route 152 in the north end of town near the Attleboro line around 5 a.m.

The flames quickly spread through the complex and black smoke rising from the building could be seen as far away as Interstate 95.

At least one person hosed down a nearby home as a precaution, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading.

There's no word yet on a cause, but the fire department told WBZ-TV is it suspicious.

No one was hurt.

The building was condemned three years ago after the roof collapsed.
