Phil Savage, former NFL GM and current color analyst for the Alabama Crimson Tide , joined Gresh and Zo to discuss the effect that Dont’a Hightower will have on the Patriots.

Savage said he feels that Hightower will be able to contribute immensely to the Patriots organization. Savage highlighted Hightower’s versatility and awareness.

“He quarterbacked that defense, which ended up being the number one ranked unit in the country,” Savage said.

Phil also said Dont’a has a high football IQ, which is something that Bill Belichick values highly. Alabama’s defense is similar to New England’s style of play, and Savage feels there will be a lot of “carryover” to make his transition from the NCAA to the NFL.
