Former Hull Police Officials Support Officer's Harrassment Claim

HULL (CBS) - Five former Hull Police officials including an ex-police chief have come forward to support an officer's claim that she was sexually harassed for years.

Wendy Cope-Allen has been on the Hull Police force for 14 years.

Last year, she filed a harassment suit against current Chief Richard Billings and two other commanding officers.

Cope-Allen claims she's endured slurs and sexual remarks for years.

Her attorney James Brady says the environment was so bad that three other women left the force.

Brady says, "The three women employees have come forward because they have been deeply offended by the sustained abuse of women and gay employees in their immediate presence on a daily routine, ongoing week by week, year by year basis."

Cope-Allen is asking for $600,000 in damages, but her attorney says change in the department is her ultimate goal.
