Authorities with the district attorney's office and Boston police announced Sunday the arrest of 26-year-old Timothy Kostka of South Boston.

Kostka is charged with home invasion and murder. The families of both the Kostka and the victim may have known each other, sources told WBZ-TV.

Sources also said police picked up Kostka on a warrant for breaking and entering.

Kostka allegedly stabbed 67-year-old Barbara Coyne to death in her home on April 16.

He will be arraigned Monday in South Boston District Court.

Coyne's family released a statement about the arrest:

"The family of Barbara Coyne extends their gratitude for the overwhelming expressions of condolences and support over the past week.

In particular, the family thanks Commissioner Davis and the Boston Police Department, Suffolk County District Attorney Conley and his staff for their professionalism.

Barbara Coyne was a beautiful, compassionate, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be sorely missed but never forgotten."
