Providence Police Officer Killed In Cruiser Crash
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (CBS) – A Providence police officer was killed in a crash Thursday morning.
Officer Max Dorley was responding to a call to assist another officer when he swerved to avoid a car on Admiral Street near Providence College.
His cruiser, which had its lights and sirens on, slammed into a telephone pole.
Dorley died a short time later.
He was 42 years old and a 15-year veteran of the department.
He leaves behind a wife and two children.
