Police Seek Second Suspect In Hingham Psychic Scam

HINGHAM (CBS) -Police are seeking a second suspect connected to a psychic scam in Hingham.

On Tuesday, Tiffany Smith, who is also known as “Sophie”, was charged with larceny and conspiracy for stealing from a 69-year-old woman.

Prosecutors say Smith told the victim that her daughter would commit suicide if she didn’t bring Smith $16,000.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Doug Cope reports

When the woman returned with just $7,000 and an antique ring, prosecutors say Smith told her to get the extra money any way she can or her daughter would die.

The woman eventually told her family who went to police.

Police have now issued an arrest warrant for 43-year-old Teresa Nicholas, who is from Albany, New York but frequents the Hingham business. Police say Nicholas cashed the victim’s check.
