Abraham With Toucher & Rich: Bobby V. Said Youkilis Lacks Emotion?

After a tough start to the season the Red Sox have won three in a row and are looking to sweep the Tampa Bay Rays this morning. With a win today the Sox will finally be .500.

Peter Abraham spoke with Toucher & Rich about some comments that Bobby Valentine made about Kevin Youkilis, the team's turn around, the latest on Jacoby Ellsbury injury and could the Sox be looking to get some help in center field?

Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine made a few comments on Sunday about third baseman Kevin Youkilis. Valentine said in and interview with WHDH-TV's SportsXTra that he thought Youkilis isn't "physically or emotionally into the game as he has been in the past."

What did Abraham think of Bobby V. calling out Kevin Youkilis? Is it strange that he would say he thinks that Youkilis is emotionally checked out?

"Yeah it's very strange for a number of different reasons. One that Youkilis if anything sometimes people think that he's too emotional and that kind of hurts him, that he gets too wrapped up in things and gets too upset when things don't go his way. And then, he's actually been pretty good the last couple of days."

How will Youkilis take a quote like this?

"I think one of two ways, it's either going to something he's going to laugh off and not really care about too much or it could be something that upsets him."

Outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury was put on the disabled list after injuring his shoulder during the team's home opener on Friday. Tampa shortstop Reid Brignac came down hard on his right shoulder while turning a double play. Initial reports said Ellsbury is expected to be out a minimum of six weeks. Is there any update on Ellsbury?

"It's a partial dislocation, but I guess there are degrees of dislocation. If it's just a slight one it could just be four to six weeks something like that. If it's a more sever one it could be something that keeps him out for a longer period of time. I guess there's the potential of rotator cuff damage or something like that, so they should know more when they look at it Monday or Tuesday and then go from there."

Plus could the Sox be looking around for a replacement center fielder?
