Woburn Post Office Named After Officer John 'Jack' Maguire

WOBURN (CBS) - On the heels of two police shootings in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Senator John Kerry and others were in Woburn Friday morning to honor the memory of an officer who was killed in the line of duty in 2010.

The Woburn Post Office was renamed after Officer John "Jack" Maguire who was shot and killed while responding to a burglary at Kohl's the night after Christmas.

Chuck Maguire, John's brother, says the fatal shooting of Greenland Police Chief Mike Maloney hit too close to home. "It's just never-ending, it seems it's never-ending," says Chuck. "It's amazing how many officers put their lives in harm's way."

The family received a copy of the legislation signed by President Barack Obama that named the Post Office after Maguire.
