CANTON (CBS) – Rescue crews in Canton had their hands full after a horse got stuck in the mud near Ponkapoag Pond.
The horse and its rider were on a trail when they fell into a three foot hole of mud that was covered by leaves and dirt.

The horse was stuck for about 30 minutes before the fire department was called.
The Canton Fire Department, State Police, DCR, Canton Police, and Boston Animal Rescue League all responded.
Crews were eventually able to pull the 900 pound horse from the mud. The animal was not seriously injured.
